Several years ago Finley created an installation titled Similarities of Difference.
This was inspired by the contrasting lives of his Grandfathers. Only a year separated them but their lives had been very different. The installation consisted of nine foot paintings of both Grandfathers. These were hung on, and around items relevant to their lives. How ever for the public to really connect and understand the individual personalities, Finley decided to record interviews with his grandfathers telling short stories from their own lives. These recordings were full of character and allowed the public to really get to know the people depicted within the paintings.
Years later, a shorter version was played at his Grandfathers funeral. Many members of the family requested copies and it was felt that the service had been incredibly personal. Thus came about Audio Legacy.
Finley Norton-Brignell
I made the decision from an early age to leave mainstream education to assemble a more creative portfolio of skills. For six years my studies included everything from jewellery making to wood carving, life drawing to mould making. During this time I also completed a BTEC national diploma in Art and Design with distinctions along side working as a part time foley artist in the films and tv industry.Combining all my previous studies, I was naturally drawn to mixed media, primarily sculpture and installations. This led to Similarities of Difference, the foundation of Audio Legacy. I am now a freelance artist forever expanding my range of skills, keen to explore new subject areas and new ideas.
Pip Norton
I am an audio professional with many years experience in film and Tv. My career began aged 21 at the BBC, moving to George Martin's Air Studios and finally becoming freelance in 2009. My credits range from Casualty to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. I bring to Audio Legacy both my technical expertise and a strong commitment to story telling. Using Pro Tools, the industry choice for sound editing, I edit your recording to produce clear story lines whilst retaining your personality. Once the structure of your life story is complete, I will sympathetically mix in sound effects chosen from my million plus library to support and enhance your life story.
